Learning and Healing through Arts
The Centre for Global Mental Health invites you to a seminar on ‘Learning and Healing through Arts’.
The Centre for Global Mental Health (CGMH), launched on October 9th 2009, is a collaboration between the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and King’s Health Partners Academic Health Science Centre, including the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), SLAM and our King’s College London and NHS Trust partners. It aims to build on the existing collaborations and complementary strengths of these two institutions to foster research and training in policy, prevention, treatment and care.
The Arts are used to inspire and educate people about mental health. The Arts may also help improve mental wellbeing and brain function. This seminar will bring together researchers and performers using the Arts in learning and healing in the UK and in Afghanistan, India and Zimabawe.
Please arrive from 3.30pm for tea and music, with a prompt start at 3.45pm. There will be five presentations and a chaired panel discussion with the audience.
