“Mental Health Matters: It Could be You”, a day conference to look at how churches can create space to talk about mental health and well being with our congregations, and the challenges of poor mental among people in our communities.

 

The aim of this conference is to:

  • Increase awareness of mental health issues
  • Understand the role of religion in mental health promotion and recovery
  • Develop the ability to reflect on both good and bad practices within faith groups
  • Deepen self-knowledge and awareness

There will be two rounds of workshops covering a wide range of subjects including: how to identify if someone needs help, supporting optimal mental health (with or without mental illness), depression, causes and consequences of poor mental health, difference between delusions and demonic possessions, supporting people with mental health needs living within faith communities…to list a few.

A Hot Lunch will be provided.
